The duo gained widespread recognition with their hit track "Pop Out" in 2019, which soared to No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Since then, they've joined forces on multiple successful collaborations, including "First Place," "Headshot" featuring Fivio Foreign, "Suicide," and G Herbo's "Cry No More."
Polo G, hailing from Chicago, made a notable appearance on Lil Tjay's "222" album in July 2023, contributing to the success of tracks like "Project Walls," "Stressed," and "2 Grown." The album, featuring a star-studded lineup with Summer Walker, Coco Jones, Jadakiss, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and The Kid LAROI, showcased their collective musical prowess.
The anticipation for Polo G's solo project had fans eagerly awaiting its release. Originally slated for an earlier debut, the album faced a delay until August of the same year. The rapper, addressing the setback, assured his fans that the wait would be worthwhile and promised new music.
The delay was attributed to legal issues, with Polo G's Southern California residence being raided in August 2023, leading to charges against his brother for murder a few months later. Despite these challenges, Polo G expressed his determination to release the LP before the close of 2024.
In a recent interview with TMZ, Polo G shared his New Year's resolution to release more music. Reflecting on the upcoming album, he affirmed, "I got it slated right now; it [says] August on there, so that’s the date I’ma stick with. I don’t want to keep making promises to my fans."
As Polo G looks ahead to the celebration of his 25th birthday and the release of his much-anticipated album, Lil Tjay's thoughtful gift from Patek Philippe serves as a prelude to what promises to be an eventful year for the rising star.
