Just last month, Sean “Diddy” Combs was bestowed with the key to New York City, and he adorned himself with a show-stopping Rolex Rainbow Cosmograph Daytona, perfectly complementing his striking ensemble. This October, at Howard University’s Yardfest, the music mogul graced the occasion with the very same timepiece, along with an array of attention-grabbing jewelry.
Stepping onto the hallowed grounds of his alma mater in Washington, D.C., Diddy, a former Howard student in business, sported a sleek black leather bomber jacket over a matching tee, complete with drawstring joggers and high-top sneakers. He adorned himself with a collection of diamond necklaces, including a substantial cross pendant, multiple layered diamond bracelets, and a substantial diamond ring. Adding a burst of color to the ensemble was the stunning Rolex Daytona, bedecked with an array of vibrant gemstones.
A closer examination of this 2018 Rolex release unveils a meticulously crafted 40mm case in 18-karat Everose gold. The bezel is a spectacle in itself, adorned with 36 baguette-cut sapphires, complemented by 56 brilliant-cut diamonds. The timepiece’s black and sunburst dial features an additional 11 baguette-cut sapphire hour markers, exuding an extra touch of celestial allure. Yet, it’s not all about aesthetics—this watch is powered by the Swiss watchmaker’s calibre 4130, a self-winding chronograph movement ensuring a robust 72-hour power reserve.
Upon its initial release, this ultra-rare masterpiece bore a price tag of $96,900. However, in today's secondary market, it commands a considerably higher price. While the exact date of Diddy’s acquisition remains undisclosed, it’s evident that he spared no expense.
Taking center stage at his alma mater couldn’t have been more timely, as he unveiled his latest musical endeavor, "The Love Album: Off the Grid," in September. Earlier in the summer, this cultural icon generously donated $1 million each to both Howard University and Jacksonville State University, further demonstrating his commitment to historically black institutions.
